McKayla & Nathan's wedding was beyond elegant and beautiful. June 14th, 2019 was a bright sunshine, humid day with the potential of thunderstorms. As most people know, it's considered to be a sign of luck to have rain on your wedding day. We met McKayla, Nathan and their bridal party at their cabin at Breezy Point in Brainerd, MN. As we looked over McKayla's details one piece really struck us, her hair piece. In all of the weddings we have captured, we had never seen anything quite like it. Her hair piece was filled with baby roses and succulents........yes, succulents! McKayla had a glow about her as she began to get ready to marry the love of her life.

How our Bride and Groom met:

"Nathan and I had met our 2nd year in college. I was going to Bemidji State and he was going to Northwest Tech. Nathan ended up living next door to some of my friends that I met on my dorm floor first year. We stayed friends for almost 2 years. Then around July 4th, 2017 our friend group was going to go out and enjoy the festivities for the summer carnival that Bemidji puts on when no one could make it out except Nathan and I. So I guess you could classify that as our first (unintentional) date. We have been together ever since."

The Proposal:

"The day he proposed had started as a really nervous day for myself as I was waiting for my acceptance email from the University of Minnesota Duluth School of Pharmacy. Later I found out I was accepted and was overjoyed. I had called Nathan and told him the good news. I was finally able to get home after work that same day when Nathan met me at the door stating he had a present for me. Of course I had to close my eyes and when I opened them he was on one knee asking me to marry him."

McKayla and Nathan's ceremony was filled with many tender and sweet moments. McKayla's brother Ian did a special reading and Nathan's brother Kyle played and sang a beautiful song while the sand ceremony was taking place. After the ceremony, the bridal party and their guests proceeded to Antler's restaurant. At the end of their dinner, the skies opened up and the rain fell hard. It didn't last long and it didn't damper the spirits of our Bride and Groom to capture their end of day images.

We can't thank McKayla & Nathan enough for the honor and privilege of allowing us to capture their gorgeous wedding day. We wish nothing but academic success for McKayla as she takes on the challenge of another 4 years at UMD. Nathan, we thank you for your continued service in our United States Military and Godspeed on your upcoming tour overseas. We wish this beautiful couple a lifetime of happiness, laughter, love and many blessings. Congratulations!!!
